BAH - Basic Allowance for Housing
The Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) provides U.S. military uniformed service members on permanent duty within the 50 United States compensation based on housing costs in local civilian housing markets when government quarters are not provided. BAH rates vary depending on geographic duty location, pay grade, and dependency status.
The 2008 BAH rates for U.S. service men and women are up 7.3 percent overall from 2007, a total increase of about $600 million.

OHA - Overseas Housing Allowance
U.S. military uniformed service members stationed overseas, including U.S. protectorates, who are not furnished government housing are eligible for Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA).
